The other great deal that we are taking advantage of for Aaron is Healthways through Blue Cross Blue Shield. This deal is through their Blue 365 program and for $25/month, you can visit any of the gyms that are on their list. And right now, through February 28, 2017, they are waiving the $25 registration fee! Gyms that are participating include Anytime Fitness, Fitness Connection, Curves,Wake Med Fitness and Health Works on New Bern Avenue, Morrisville and Aquatics Fitness Center and others. For those that are looking for straight workouts and not necessarily classes, this is a great option for you!

Ooh if I lived in North Raleigh or Durham I would love to try hot yoga. Alas, I'm in Holly Springs. I go to the Y. The prices are reasonable and they have lots of classes at all times of the day. I'm also a big yoga fanatic.
ReplyDeleteI miss the Y! I got spoiled by the one in downtown Raleigh, but the one in Durham was more expensive and didn't have as many classes. I'm glad yours works for you!
DeleteI really enjoy going for classes, but with a new baby can't fit it into my budget. YouTube has become my best friend, as I have found so many workouts online!
ReplyDeleteI always worry about that for in the future! I'm glad you found something that works!
DeleteGreat suggestions on working out on a budget! I am lucky and my office complex has a gym for free. Now to actually go lol. You have inspired me to take a closer look at my budget. I started over a week ago and was so glad I had because we had an unexpected car expense come up and I just happened to have the money set aside, whew!

That's awesome about your office complex! Going is key! lol
DeleteWhat a great round up of suggestions! Checking with insurance is huge and an often overlooked benefit if there are any wellness incentives. I got a monetary incentive after giving birth through one of the wellness programs with insurance - just for talking to a health coach for a few minutes on the phone each month.
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! I honestly had never thought of checking with insurance, but we get such good benefits with the City and they are always letting us know about them! I think we also get visits to a nutritionist each year, I should probably utilize those.
DeleteIt sounds like you get your money's worth! I have a free gym at work, or else I would definitely have to find a gym to join.
ReplyDeleteI've heard great things about BURN!
ReplyDeleteBetween Jan and Feb , Yelp NC has what is called 'Yelp Fit Club' . They offer free workouts to anyone with a yelp account and register. There were different fitness places thruout the Triangle that we got to try for free. Buti Yoga is one that was fun!
ReplyDeleteThese sound so fun and reasonable. I have always wanted to take a boxing class... I think it would be cool to get fit and feel tough at the same time :)
