Get to Know Me: 50 Completely Random Questions People Rarely Ask (Blog Tag)

Last week my friend Molly at Still Being Molly did a post answering 50 random questions about herself. I loved it and told her I was going to steal her idea! My blog is still mostly a hobby, so I still get to fun stuff like this!

Here we go! Here are 50 completely random questions people rarely ask!
  1. What's your favorite candle scent? Anything that is not food related! Christmas or Fall scents are probably my favorite.
  2. What female celebrity do you wish you were related to? Emma Stone. I love her oh so much.
  3. What male celebrity do you wish was your brother? Justin Timberlake. I love his personality and think he'd be super fun!
  4. What's your favorite thing about marriage? (And if you're single, what's your favorite thing about being single? Having someone that is just as weird as I am. I can say whatever terrible thing is on my mind and chances are he's thought the same thing. Aaron is truly my partner in crime!
  5. What's one thing you own that you should probably get rid of, but you can't? I actually purged a lot when we moved, but there are about four or five pairs of high heels that I own that I will never, ever wear again. They are taking up valuable shoe space, but I love them and can't part with them.
  6. Can you do a split? That's a big fat no. You should see me try to do a half split in yoga, it's pretty sad.
  7. How old were you when you learned how to ride a bike? Who remembers that? Maybe 6 or 7?
  8. How many oceans have you swam in? Just the Atlantic. I've been to the Pacific Ocean, but I didn't swim in it.
  9. How many countries have you been to? 4 St. Lucia, Japan, Canada and US
  10. Is anyone in your family in the army?  My mom's dad was in the army and my dad's dad was in the navy. This question confused me, does it mean army as in the specific branch or army like military? Things you only think when you grew up in a military town!
  11. What was your favorite tv show when you were a child? General Hospital.  The lady that ran the daycare I grew up in watched soap operas and GH was my favorite.  I remember telling her to wake me up for my nap in time to watch my "story" as she called it.
  12. What did you dress up as on Halloween when you were eight? Pretty sure that was a clown. Mom made me a clown costume with a ton of elastic that could be worn for multiple years! lol
  13. Have you ever read any of the Harry Potter, Hunger Games or Twilight series? no, yes and no, I tried Twilight, but couldn't get past the first chapter in the first book.  Too many feelings for me.
  14. Would you rather have an American or British accent? American, actually. I like my Southern accent
  15. Have you ever taken karate lessons? Nope!
  16. Do you know who Kermit the frog is? But of course!
  17. What's the first amusement park you've been to? I think Disney World. I was pretty young when we went there and I didn't grow up going to amusement parks.
  18. What language, besides your native language, would you like to be fluent in? Tagalog. Weird, I know. I worked at the library as a page for two years in high school (six years total) and loved shelving the foreign language books. Tagalog was the one I had never heard of and always interested me the most.
  19. Do you spell the color as grey or gray? Grey
  20. Do you know triplets? No, but I know a lot of twins!
  21. Do you prefer Titanic or The Notebook? The Notebook.  If you're a bird, I'm a bird.
  22. Have you ever had Indian food? Yes and it's one of my favorites! I haven't met a curry I didn't like.
  23. What's the name of your favorite restaurant? To be fair, I have two. In Fayetteville, where I grew up, it's Luigi's.  In the Raleigh/Durham area, it's Relish. If you come visit me, chances are pretty good I'm going to take you to Relish!
  24. Have you ever been to Olive Garden? Yep and I actually like it.
  25. What would your parents have named you if you were the opposite gender? Andrew Stephen, I believe. I know my dad wanted a boy named Andy.
  26. If you have a nickname, what is it? To some, I will forever be a version of Davenport - Davs, Davies, etc. My dad calls me Sarah Cait once in a while
  27. Who's your favorite person in the world? Aaron. I'm in training all week and I kinda miss him. Don't tell him that, though.
  28. Would you rather live in a rural area or the suburbs? Suburbs and not afraid to admit it! I like conveniences, thank you.
  29. Can you whistle? Nope.
  30. Do you sleep with a nightlight? There is one in our bathroom so I don't kill myself when I get up in the middle of the night, but that's it.
  31. Do you eat breakfast every morning? Yep. I wake up hungry.
  32. How many times have you been to the hospital? To visit people? A lot. Admitted? Once, when I was born.
  33. Have you ever seen Finding Nemo? Yes!
  34. Where do you buy your jeans? Mostly Loft or Ann Taylor.
  35. What's the last compliment you got? I'm going to go with a work compliment! One of my coworkers told me the other day that I do compliance like it's supposed to be done, more teaching and less "gotcha." For me, knowing that others respect what I do is huge!
  36. Do you usually remember your dreams in the morning? I remember bits and pieces and try really hard to remember them, but rarely do I remember them an hour past when I wake up.
  37. Favorite beverage that isn't water? Coffee. Specifically Skinny Cinnamon Dolce or Peppemint White Mocha.
  38. How many pairs of shoes do you currently own? About 75. That doesn't include flip flops. I have a problem.
  39. How old were you when you found out Santa wasn't real? I want to say like 8 or 10. Apparently my parents had to tell me because I got into a fight with a kid telling him Santa was real and I knew it because the hand-writing on the gifts was different than either of my parents'. Oh little Sarah, haha.
  40. What is one food you used to hate but now you love? I don't know that there is something that I hated that I now love. I remember when I first tried sushi, I didn't like it, but now I love it. But foods I hated, I pretty much still hate.
  41. What is a weird lie you've told? I used to lie to the dentist about my gag reflex. I mean, I have one, but I would make it oh so much worse than it was.  As a kid, all my teeth were pulled by the dentist and I hated him for it (sorry CP).  He was actually a great guy, but all I saw was the guy pulling teeth out of my head. So I would do whatever to keep it from actually happening.
  42. Heels or flats? Flats all day long. I used to wear heels all the time, but I've become a creature of comfort the past five or six years.
  43. Do you have weird phobias? Do carwashes count?! I also hate, hate, hate roaches.
  44. What is a word or phrase you always say? I know, right?
  45. What is a song you blast or belt out when you are alone? Really, it's more like what won't I belt out? Pat Benatar, Outkast, Eminem, Garth Brooks and Journey are my faves, though.
  46. What is one of your biggest pet peeves? When Aaron puts my pots back in the wrong place.
  47. Do you sleep with your closet door open or closed? Open. The closet is at the end of the bathroom, so it looks weird to close the door. Also, I can see my wall of shoes from my bed and who wouldn't want to see that?!
  48. Would you rather be attacked my a big bear or a swarm of bees? Both of these sound horrible, but I'm going with bees after watching The Revenant.
  49. Do you have any weird things you do? I gots many! I perpetually feel like I've left the oven on and make Aaron turn the car around to go check it.
  50. What movie could you watch over and over again and still love? Twister, hands down. Pitch Perfect is a close second but if Twister is on, I will sit down and watch it. Every. Single. Time.
Happy Friday! If you're a blogger, do this and let me know when you do! It's fun :)
