About Sarah

Hi, I'm Sarah!

I live in Durham, North Carolina with my husband Aaron.  We got married in September 2013.

We both commuted back and forth from Raleigh, NC to Durham, NC for a while (Aaron longer than Sarah) before we decided to build a house in Durham.

We love our home and life in Durham.  Over the years, I've blogged off and on covering topics about my life, baking and canning.  Back in January 2016, I decided to get myself back in shape after some pretty abysmal biometric screening results.  I started attending Burn Athletic, about 10 minutes from my house.  I started out going two times a week and got hooked! Then I took a Foundations of Yoga workshop and began my journey as a wannabe yogi!

I now workout about 5 to 6 days a week.  I've changed my eating habits, but am constantly trying new things to make a healthier me.  I'm not a twig (solid size 14 right here) and I've found a lot of fitness and health blogs are by skinny women.  Nothing wrong with skinny women, but how we exercise and clothe ourselves to exercise is different.  So welcome to my blog! If you like food and pretty things and want to get a little healthier, you'll fit right in!

Fun Facts!
  1. I was born and raised in Fayetteville, NC.  It's a military town and not a lot of people are actually FROM there.
  2. I love all things pumpkin.  Bring me all the pumpkin things!
  3. My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving.  For some, it's Christmas or their birthday.  Me? It's Thanksgiving.
  4. I love shoes. I have a lot of them. Don't ask me the number, just know it's a lot.
  5. I don't really have a single favorite band/musician, but my top three are Eagles, Yellow Card and Red Hot Chili Peppers.
  6. I run to old school rap and know all the words to way too many songs. I like to think I can rap them, but I can't, but that also doesn't stop me from doing it.
  7. I hate wet feet.
  8. I have a Master's degree in Public Administration. I actually use it.
  9. You can pretty much win any fight or win back my affection with a cupcake or large sweet tea.
  10. I love words. I love to speak them, write them, read them, sing them.

  1. I love Thanksgiving as well! All the fun and excitement without the pressure of gifts, etc. I grew up in Kinston...so not too far away from where you grew up!
